Power of video
THE POWER OF THE ONLINE VIDEO CREATOR
TV SHOW / ONLINE SERIES
What is the Power of Video?
Damien and Billy of Speed Motion (speedmotion.co.uk) developed Power of Video as a festival, conference and educational event in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 2016 - the goals were to inspire and educate video creators, social media fans and business from not just Northern Ireland, but around the world.
Now in its 5th year, POV has welcomed some of the world's biggest online video creators such as Casey Neistat, Devin Supertramp, Aaron Crascall, Peter McKinnon and Shonduras; as well as accumulating over 60+ million video views on Northern Ireland and the festival itself.
In addition to video creators, POV has welcomed some of the world’s biggest industry brands that include: Canon, Black Magic, Epidemic Sound, Sigma, VIDIQ and Sennheiser.
An intimate, behind-the-scenes look into the private lives and stories of some of the world’s biggest online video content creators and what makes them passionate about creating content for their audiences - the highs, lows and everything in between.
Power of Video TV Series
The series will dive deeper into the stories of video content creators who have attended Power of Video in the past 4 years; each episode looking into the life of each creator, how they got into creating content, what inspires them, what keeps them motivated to continue to create content for their fans on sometimes a daily basis.
These content creators/influencers have become massive online personalities that have managed to attract huge followings with many stretching into the millions, with YouTube being one of the most popular platforms. Brands and business see this shift and look to utilise influencers, such as YouTubers, to market their products in new and exciting ways.
We’ll explore the highs and lows of being a video content creator/influencer and the pressure they feel to continue to create content, the business side of being a content creator, how to make a living making videos plus running a business as well as producing regular social media content. We want to show the insane lifestyle that a content creator lives - the travel, the late nights, incredible projects and brands they work - this isn’t a fairytale, this is really what it’s like to be a video creator in 2020.
When the camera and the lights turn off, YouTubers around the world are dealing with issues that never make the final uploaded video, and this edited version of themselves highlights their aspirational career and lifestyle, but what happens behind closed doors?
